This page includes the almost full text (whatever I could get from dejanews) of the "Favorite Tracks" thread I started a while back, plus general Tri Repetae stuff. Enjoy!

What are your favorite tracks on Tri
Repetae by Autechre? I was just
trying to figure it out, because I don't know the names of any of them
I
just listen to the cd. Checking the sleeve, my favorites are:
stud.
eutow. (on right now!)
overand.
On the second CD (or Anvil Vapre + Gerbage
if you have them separate)
I like
second bad vilbel
second peng (!)
garbage
vietmx21. (beautiful. probably my favorite Ae of all so far.)
Actually I like all the tracks on this
set. Autechre is just so
fabulous! Tri Repetae ++ is a good deal if you can get it, three of
their releases for a total of 18 tracks, for the price of a regular cd!
I also have Anti and Envane, but I'm
getting Cichlisuite any day now and
Chiastic Slide soon. What are these two like?
Also, I plan to get Incunabula and Amber
sometime. What are these like?
Also, I heard a rumor that Incunabula was out of print. Is this true?
Can I get Autechre t-shirts or bumper
stickers anywhere?

My favorite on tri repetae is the end
of stud, from about 6:50 onwards.
I could listen to just that bit, looped, for an hour... Exquisite.
Second choice would be overand. Third choice clipper.

Same here. (It's VLetrmx21 on the original EP, by the way.)

If you like Envane and the rougher tracks
on tri repetae, you should
like Chiastic Slide.
> Also, I plan to get Incunabula and Amber sometime. What are these like?
Amber is dark and soft and lush and slightly
menacing, yet warm. Again,
given that you like stud, VLetrmx21 and overand, I expect you'd like it
a lot.

I got a T shirt by ordering directly
from Ae themselves, and they sent
me a bumper sticker too. I wrote to the address on one of the cards I
got in the UK Warp releases, got put on the mailing list. The T shirt
is totally black, with "Aet." on it in tri repetae green.

I don't have a tape or cd in my car,
so I dunno yet. I'm gonna get one
of those radio transmitters you hook up to a portable and get it thru
FM. I'd love to listen to Ae on my way to school!!!
Vietmx is a popular one, huh? I don't
know because I'm the only Ae fan I
know!!
Viet makes me think of an emotion you can't get rid of, just coming in,
and subsiding briefly, then coming back again even louder. Absolutely
beautiful. A few of Aphex's tracks on Selected Works II are like this,
particularly CD1#3 and CD2#1.
Ps what do the numbers mean on the end of the track names?

Please send it, or any articles! My email
(NOT the one above!!) is
buzzwagon@juno.com
I just found out from CDnow.com that my copy has been backordered and
won't ship for a while. I guess I'll just have to buy their other
albums, and mentally prepare for Cichlisuite and Chiastic!!! Oh GOD I
can't wait. If what I have heard about cichlisuite is true then I have
a
new cd to add to my Big 4.

I especially like the third one on Envane, the more sinister one.

Maybe not right away, I just quit my job! Will have another soon
tho..... and more money to spend on Cd's. :-) What a horrible time to
have to leave- just when I'm getting deep into Autechre!!

Yes please do! I'm starved for Ae info. I don't know any people who
like techno so I kind of am swimming in the dark here!

No kidding!! Those are my 2 favorite
tracks on Insides. Especially part
one of Out There Somewhere, the alien theme part is so pretty. I can't
wait to get them all!
***********8
I think if I absolutely had to pick one
track from Tri Repetae, it would
be stud. The chords in the background, fading in and out after that
crunchy synth, are so pretty, especially at the end when the rhythym
drops out.
Overand is a very close second in my book, I was blown away by it. I
really couldn't pick tho, because I love the whole thing. This is just
one of those records I just cannot say enough about! I will be picking
up their other records soon, although unfortunately I will have to wait
for Cichlisuite and Chiastic.
PS will your articles about Cichli give
away surprises or is it not like
that? Can nothing prepare me?
BTW "yeesland" is the name of one of the levels in a video game,
I think
either F-Zero for SNES or Space Harrier II for Genesis. Weird, huh?

Cichlisuite is my favorite. I'm not saying
it's their best (though I
think so), but it is still my favorite. Did that make any sense? I can
send you the most accurate description I've ever read about this disc.
Some tracks on Chiastic Slide are like
Latent Quarter and Laughing Quarter
off of Envane (i.e. harsh and static-filled.) There is warmth on this
disc, though. It becomes warmer the more you listen to it.

Incunabula is not out of print. You can
find it just about anywhere. Get
it and Amber as soon as finances allow! :-)
Someone just posted excellent descriptions
of Ae's Incunabula through
Chiastic Slide on this newsgroup (rma), but if you didn't read it, I can
send it to you.
Do you have Orbital's In Sides? Adnan's
and Out There Somewhere reminds
me somewhat of Autechre's Incunabula/Amber period.
